And I’m Back.

It’s been over 3 years since I last looked at this blog, and quite a lot of things have happened. I’ve lost friends, I’ve made new ones. I’ve travelled, I’ve graduated. I have started university, and involved myself in more pop culture than I ever thought possible. This is probably the main reason I have started up this blog again.

My current degree is a Bachelor of Communication (Information and Media) Bachelor of International Studies (Latino USA), and that means that I must surround myself with media. I already do this, and I have been doing this for years, however I realised the importance of not just surrounding myself with media, but also being a part of this myself, I already use social media – probably too much, but I don’t use it on a massively public scale that could help my future.

I have been listening to various podcasts recently, and one of them is the Women in Marvel podcast (the link to which can be found here). This podcast is run by the Head of Social Media at Marvel, and often interviews other women at marvel – not just artists and writers, but other members of the company that are women, such as producers, project managers and public relations. This podcast really honestly inspires me, as it is probably my dream job to work for a comic book company (especially marvel), and these women are all so successful in their fields. Not only are they successful, they have all made it there in different ways. A few of them have degrees in Communications, however there are some that have a degree in photography  or classical literature, and even some without a degree at all. And it gives me hope, that even if my degree doesn’t exactly affect my final outcome career wise, my experiences will. And that’s really what this blog is about, gaining new experiences, and making contacts, just as the women on the podcast have suggested.

So this is it, the first step towards my dream job. I hope you will take this journey with me.
